How to use the 7-stem splitter

  1. Upload the song. MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC, up to 10 minutes. You sign in with Google the first time.
  2. Press Split the song. This is the most expensive page on the site: 6 credits for every minute of music. A 4-minute song is 24 credits, and the button shows the exact price before anything runs. New accounts start with 5 credits, which is less than one minute costs on this page. If processing fails, your credits are returned.
  3. Work through the rows. There are 20 rows, one for each part. Switch rows on or off to hear them alone or together, download the ones you want as MP3 at 320 kbps, and ignore the rest.

All 20 rows

Group Rows
Main parts Vocals, Instrumental, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano
Orchestral Strings, Wind
Leftover Other (no vocals, bass or drums)
Singers Lead vocals (two versions), Back vocals, Back vocals + instrumental
Drum kit Kick, Snare, Cymbals, Toms, Hi-hat, Ride, Crash

The name says seven, and the main instrument parts are vocals, bass, drums, piano, guitar, strings and wind. The singer rows and drum rows are the extras that make this the detailed option.

What the extra rows are for

Lead and back vocals. Singers who want only the choir behind the star, or only the star, can use these. Two versions of the lead are included so you can pick the one that sounds cleaner on your song. For a cheaper page that only splits singers, see Separate Lead and Backing Vocals.

Drums by piece. The kit is split into kick, snare, cymbals, toms, hi-hat, ride and crash. Producers use the kick and snare to rebuild a beat. Drummers can hear a ride pattern without the rest of the kit getting in the way. If drums are all you need, the Drum Kit Splitter costs far less.

Strings and wind. String sections and wind instruments each get a row, handy for film-style tracks and arrangements. They are grouped, not separated by instrument.

How it differs from the other split pages

The home page is the everyday six-part splitter. The 5-Stem Splitter is the middle step: best-quality models, seven rows. This page adds strings, wind, lead and back vocals and the drum pieces. The Every Instrument Splitter goes in the other direction and looks for dozens of single instruments, at 1 credit per minute.

More rows means more chances for one part to leave a trace in another. Small drum pieces in a loud mix and strings buried under guitars are the usual weak points, so check them with headphones.

FAQ

How much does the 7-stem splitter cost?

6 credits for every minute of the song, shown on the button before you start. Failed runs are refunded.

Why 20 rows for a "7-stem" splitter?

Seven is the count of main instrument groups. The vocal versions and drum pieces are added on top.

Will every row have sound?

Not always. A song with no strings will give an empty or near-empty strings row.

What do I download?

Each row separately, as an MP3 at 320 kbps.
