This page explains what happens to your data when you use Unmix Studio (https://unmixstudio.com). The short version: the MIDI converters run on your device; the tools that split a song send it to our processing partner.

MIDI converters (MP3 to MIDI, Audio to MIDI, WAV to MIDI)

When you choose, drop or record audio in a MIDI converter, it is decoded and converted to MIDI inside your web browser. The audio and the resulting MIDI notes are not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else. They exist only in your browser tab and are gone when you close or reload it.

Splitting tools and the Studio

When you use a tool that splits a song (for example Vocal Remover, Stem Splitter, an instrument extractor, or the Studio), you need to be signed in. Your song is uploaded to our storage (Cloudflare R2) and sent from there to an audio processing provider, which separates it and keeps its own copy for a few days under long, unguessable links. We keep your uploaded song and the separated tracks on our storage for 30 days so you can play and download them, then they are deleted automatically. Removing a song in the Studio deletes its files from our storage straight away. Only you can open your files: links to them are issued only to your account. We don't use your songs or the separated tracks to train AI models, and we don't sell or share them with anyone other than the services named on this page.

Your account

You sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google and keep them with your account, together with your credit balance and a record of each split (which tool, the song's length, the credits used or given back). We use this only to run the site and your account. To have your account and its data deleted, email us at the address at the bottom of this page; your list of songs is deleted at once and any remaining files leave our storage within 30 days.

Payments

Credit packs are paid through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; we receive the order (amount, currency, pack, date) and keep it with your account so your credits, receipts and refunds work.

Your list of songs

When you are signed in, your list of songs and how each one was split (names, which parts are on, which splits ran) is saved in your account, so it is the same on every device. Your browser also keeps a copy of this list, of the songs you add, and of the separated tracks of the songs you opened most recently (up to about 400 MB), so they open without downloading again. Signing out removes the separated tracks from the browser. Adding a song without starting a split uploads nothing.

"Separate instruments" in the MIDI converter (Pro)

If you use Separate instruments, your audio file is uploaded to an audio processing provider, which splits it into vocals, bass, drums and other instruments. The file and the separated tracks are stored by that provider under long, unguessable links so you can leave the page and come back for the result on the same browser; we don't keep our own copy, and the job ID is saved only in your browser. The note detection itself still runs in your browser. If you don't use this option, nothing is uploaded.

Microphone

The Record button asks your browser for microphone access. The recording is used only for the conversion in your tab, the same way as an uploaded file. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser settings.

What we load from our server

To run the converter your browser downloads the note-detection model and the piano sound samples from this site. Like any website, our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.
